We’re looking for a driven, analytically-minded professional to join our Data Management and Business Insights Team! This role is responsible for partnering with and monitoring insights to better understand Oportun Customers across their entire multi-product lifecycle.


The ideal candidate is an experienced data storyteller with a passion for spotting patterns, an eagerness to collaborate with several different teams, and the curiosity to learn more every day!


  • Partner with Marketing, Analytics, Data, and Engineering teams to get a comprehensive understanding of customer data across multiple products.
  • Define and own the vision and roadmap for a robust and scalable Customer segmentation framework.
  • Develop attribution and segmentation models for different lines of Businesses and initiatives within Oportun.
  • Design and develop tools and analytics solutions to make the customer segmentation data assets easily accessible across the company.
  • Own end-to-end analytics workflow, including defining success, generating insights and hypotheses, performance metrics, socializing them across the organization, and creating actionable dashboards and reports.


  • Passion and drive to disrupt the lending and financial industry for the better
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience working in Marketing Analytics, Marketing Research or Analytics Consulting roles, and preferably in Retail, Fintech, or Gaming.
  • 2+ years of coding experience using machine learning toolset within Python, SQL,Spark:3+ years of leveraging machine learning techniques such as K means, KNN, Neural Networks, Logistic Regression, and Decision Trees, among others.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data extraction, cleaning, analysis and visualization; experience with non-structural data is a plus.
  • Strong Problem solving and Data Analysis skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to present the findings to C level executives.
  • Excellent Team player with cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with Cloud-based technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, etc.).
  • Sufficient laziness to want to automate everything.
