Overview

The Sr. Security Manager will be part of our Security services function and be responsible for leading security service pods for Oportun’s Security organization. This is a delivery focused role where you will work across security teams to deliver data driven security services to our internal customers.

 

You will embrace agile behaviors while enabling Oportun’s business through security at speed and scale, while ensuring regulatory compliance by working proactively across the enterprise to implement practices & behaviors that meet Oportun’s defined policies and standards for information security risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead security service pods across Oportun’s Security organization
  • Build high performing teams that deliver solutions to reduce risk, protect the business and enable growth
  • Work with our Security functional leaders to fulfill our roadmap while delivering data driven security services to our internal customers
  • Collect, analyze and report on security metrics using continuous automation
  • Enable an agile and frictionless organization by demonstrating agile behaviors
  • Provide security subject matter expertise to diverse teams through security consultation for risk analysis, remediation and solution development for countermeasures
  • Align technical and operational compliance with Information Security policies, standards, and guidelines across the enterprise
  • Foster a team culture that models inclusivity, diversity, transparency and delivery excellence

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience with a demonstrated track record of success in information security, risk management, compliance auditing and / or penetration testing
  • 5+ years of experience in building and scaling diverse, inclusive, and high-performing security teams
  • Relevant Information Security Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, QSA or CEH
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and/or work experience
  • Proven track record of delivering cloud at scale while leveraging Secure-SDLC practices
  • Experience with modern agile engineering approaches and focus on operational excellence
  • Data-driven approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
  • Experience with regulatory and industry standards such as PCI DSS, CIS Controls, NIST CSF, SOC 2, etc.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and results-oriented team player with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, global environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral / written communication skills
